Frequently Asked Questions
Q What happens in the first session?
A The first session
is an opportunity to talk through what brings you to counselling. We
can then consider how we can work together and discuss any practicalities.
Q How long is a session?
A Sessions last for
fifty minutes.
Q How many sessions will I need?
A If you decide to go ahead with the counselling, we will agree a weekly day and time that is convenient for you. Counselling is normally open-ended – so you choose to come while it feels useful. Alternatively we can work to a fixed number of sessions.
Q What about the fee?
A I charge between £35 and £40 per session, depending on your circumstances. However, if you come more than once weekly we can normally negotiate a lower fee. It may be possible to negotiate a lower daytime fee if you are on a low income, a student, carer, etc. Home visits are £40.
