More About Me
Confidentiality
All sessions will be in confidence. This confidence will be maintained
and applied to all records, except:
Where you the client give your written
consent.
Where I am compelled by a court of law or under the terms of the Children
Act.
If I believe the client to be in real danger to him or herself. Or where another
person or organisation is believed to be at risk.
In the event of any of the above I would always endeavour to discuss things with you first.
My approach to counselling
There are many different approaches to counselling. This can be bewildering when you just know you need some help. Perhaps the most important thing is that you feel comfortable with the person you choose. I strive to offer a genuinely empathic, accepting, non-judgemental and safe environment.
In general my approach is psychodynamic. This approach emphasises a real respect for the client as an individual. Where appropriate it can be useful to explore links between past experiences and present relationships and lifestyle. Of key importance to this approach is the relationship between counsellor and client.
